Capacitor Value Conversion Chart

Capacitor values are very often marked in different ways.

The chart below allows you to convert capacitor values easily. For example - A capacitor marked as 100n (100nF) will be the same value as a capacitor marked as 0.1u (0.1uF)

Microfarads
uF = 1 Farad x 10
-6

Nanofarads
nF = 1 Farad x 10
-9

Picofarads
pF = 1 Farad x 10
-12

As you can see from the chart above Capacitor values are measured in Farads, but because a Farad is such a huge value it's not very usable, so values are measured in:

Microfarads (uF) which is a Farad divided by 1,000,000
Nanofarads (nF) which is a Farad divided by 1,000,000,000
Picofards (pF) which is a Farad divided by 1,000,000,000,000
